Introduced in 1961, the Junior slotted above the Melody Maker and below the Special. It was produced continuously for a decade, until both the Junior and Melody Maker were effectively replaced in mid-1971 by the SG-100. However, there was a limited run of SG-100 Junior models in 1972. Since then, it has been reissued occasionally and is widely considered a staple of the SG lineup by fans.

1961 - 1965[]
While Gibson literature treated the SG/LP Junior and the SG TV as separate models, this page will treat them as one. The only real difference besides the finish is that SG TV models never used a "Les Paul" silkscreen on the headstock.
Note: TV Yellow is a translucent finish, although it may sometimes look opaque until you get close enough.
