The SG Special Voodoo was a variant of the SG Special introduced in 2002 and features a distinctive finish; an ebony base coat, followed by red grain filler and sealed with a clear satin lacquer topcoat. Combined with the distinctive grain of Swamp Ash, it creates a look similar to bloody streaks across the body. It was discontinued in 2005.
In 2019, a new version was produced as a Zzounds/AMS exclusive. The biggest changes were a Richlite fretboard and Maple neck, as well as the finish.
